Tour Itinerary: 11 Nights / 12 Days Places Covered : Delhi – Agra – Jaipur – Pushkar – Udaipur – Mumbai – Aurangabad – Ellora –Ajanta – Mumbai
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Upon your arrival at Delhi Airport, You will be greeted by our airport representative and transfer to the hotel. Representative will assist to furnish the check-in formalities at hotel reception. Check-in at the hotel . Remaining day is free at your own leisure.
Delhi is a perfect blend of ancient historic legacy and paced up life with modern lifestyle and treats its visitors with tempting Indian delicacies and desserts. Old Delhi is like an old reel playing before your eyes and New Delhi flashes your eyes with its modern lifestyle. Explore the nearby areas and enjoy the local food. Stay overnight at hotel in Delhi.
Day 2: City Tour of Old & New Delhi
This morning after breakfast proceed for an escorted combined City Tour of Old & New Delhi. We’ll start with a tour to Old Delhi. Visit the most famous Red Fort– the residence of Mughal emperors of India for nearly 200 years, Jama Masjid– the largest mosque of India and if time allows, quick-shop in the local markets of Chandni Chowk. Then we visit Qutub Minar– the tallest stone tower in India signifying victory, Raj Ghat– the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, Jantar Mantar– the fascinating equinoctial sundial, India Gate– the central imposing pride of Delhi and the historical and intriguing Humayun’s Tomb. During the tour, drive past the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s House), Parliament House and the Government Secretariat Buildings. Get back to the hotel in evening. Stay overnight at hotel in Delhi.
Day3: Delhi – Agra (205 kms, approx. 4 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Agra.
On arrival, check in to your hotel and catch a breather. Thereafter proceed to visit the world’s emblem of love- Taj Mahal, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. (Please note that Taj Mahal remains closed every Friday. Thus, in case your visit to Agra falls on a Friday, you shall visit Taj the next day in the morning.) Continue the tour with a visit to Agra Fort where Shah Jahan was deposed and restrained by his son, Aurangzeb. Visit its presidential palaces, Halls of Public and Private Audience, beautiful gardens and the famous Musamman Burj where Shah Jahan had died, a beautiful marble floored tower giving views of Taj Mahal. Later return to the hotel for a relaxed sleep. Stay overnight at Hotel in Agra
Day4: Agra – Jaipur (250 kms, approx 5 hrs)
This morning after breakfast, leave by road for the pink city Jaipur. En-route, halt at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned red sandstone Mughal town built by Emperor Akbar. Visit major city attractions like Buland Darwaza and Tomb of Salim Chishti. Further drive to Jaipur and check in at the hotel on arrival. Fill your evening with colours of Rajasthan with a visit to Chokhi Dhani, a fabulous Ethnic Village. Get introduced to rich and vibrant Rajasthani tradition and enjoy various games, Rajasthani dance and savour lip smacking Rajasthani cuisine like famous Dal Bati Churma. Later return to hotel after enjoying and eating to the fullest. Stay overnight at hotel in Jaipur.
Day 5: Full Day Jaipur Sightseeing tour
After breakfast at hotel in the morning, visit Amber Fort (11 Kms from Jaipur), a marvellous Rajput architecture built by Raja Mansingh-1 in 1592. Located on a hill overlooking Maota Lake at the forefront, you can reach the top of the fort on foot, by Jeep or on elephant back. The interiors of the fort are simply stunning where royal halls are decorated with intricate ivory work and exquisite wall paintings that are a delight to witness. Further visit to Jaigarh Fort (3 kms further to Amer Fort) and located 400 meter higher than Amber Fort built by Sawai Jaisingh-III. Witness Jaivana here, the largest wheeled cannon ever constructed.
Then we take a Jaipur City Sightseeing tour. We drive past Hawa Mahal– the five-storey Palace of Winds with spectacular pyramidal shape and intricately carved windows. Make a stop at City Palace, an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art built by Maharaja Sawai Mansingh-II and get awed with the architectural beauty of Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Maharani’s Palace and Sri Govind Dev Temple. Make a visit to City Palace Museum to see the fabulous collection of royal princes’ robes, carpets, armoury of old weapons, miniature paintings portraying court scenes, battle scenes and processions. We further our visit to Jantar Mantar– an accurate astronomical observatory built in 1726 AD. Later return to the hotel for a relaxed sleep. Stay overnight at Hotel in Jaipur.
Day 6: Jaipur – Pushkar (Approx 150 kms)
After breakfast, drive to Pushkar which is one of the most sacred town of Rajasthan situated in Ajmer District. It is located on the shore of Pushkar Lake. As per legends Lord Brahma created this city hence there is one Temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. Pushkar is also famous for Cattle Fair (held in November). Overnight stay at Hotel in Pushkar.
Day 7: Pushkar – Udaipur
After Breakfast, drive to Udaipur. Udaipur was founded in 1559 by Maharana Uday Singh-II. Apart from its culture and history it is also known as “Venice of the east” and “lake city”. Lake Pichola, Fatehpur Sagar and Swaroop sagar lake are some of the prominent lakes of Udaipur.
Arrive Udaipur & Check in at the Hotel. Remaining day is Free at own Leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel in Udaipur.
Day 8: Udaipur
After Breakfast, you will proceed for Sightseeing Tour of Udaipur. Visit to Jagdish Temple. It was built by Maharana Jagat Singh-I in 1651 AD. Later visit to Sahelion ki Bari which was laid to accommodate young girl attendant who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as a part of dowry.
You will also visit to City Palace which is standing on the east bank of lake Pichola. Within this there are other Small Palaces like Dilkush Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Mahal and Krishna Villas. The former guest houses of City Palace, Fatehparkash Palace and Shiv Niwas Palaces have been converted in to Heritage hotels. In the evening, enjoy Boat ride at lake Pichola and visit to Jagmandir which is another island at lake pichola and known for its garden courtyard.
Later proceed for Light and Sound Show at the magnificent Manek Chowk in the City Palace Complex. Overnight stay at Hotel in Udaipur.
Day 09 : Udaipur – Mumbai (by air)
Morning after breakfast , fly to Mumbai, the business capital of India. Here, you will be visiting the Gateway of India, built in 1927 by the British rulers to honor the visit of George V from England. Apart from the Gateway of India, you can also visit some other places which are the Gandhi Museum and Hanging Garden. Come back to the hoteland stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 10 : Mumbai – Aurangabad – Ellora Caves – Aurangabad (by air)
Next day to visit Ellora Caves, you will fly to Aurangabad. After taking a rest, you will proceed towards the Ellora Caves. The glorious group of rock temples of Ellora and Ajanta comes under UNESCO World Heritage. The Ellora caves have the combination of the art and sculptures of Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. You will return to Aurangabad in the evening and after having your dinner, you will stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 11 : Aurangabad – Ajanta – Aurangabad
After having your breakfast, you will be visiting Ajanta caves on the day 11th, which are about 100 kilometers away. The Ajanta caves consists a total of 30 Caves. Here in Ajanta Caves, you will experience a unique combination of sculpture, architecture and paintings. After that, you will return to Aurangabad and stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 12 : Aurangabad – Mumbai/Delhi
Today you will fly back to Mumbai/Delhi from Aurangabad. Then, from Mumbai/Delhi you will take a flight back to your home. Your tour to Ajanta, Ellora and Golden Triangle ends here.
